Details: Hosted by the Big Island Ukulele Guild. Show features finely crafted ukuleles by guild members as well as a juried ukulele contest. And at noon today (Oct. 13), an ukulele building demonstration will provide an informative view about creating an ukulele. All events are free and open to the public. “YEAR OF THE DOG: LAVA EVACUATION”

Details: Photographer Melissa Schelling documents the lava evacuation in real time by photographing every day – even while living out of a suitcase. Schelling’s exhibit combines urgent messages from Civil Defense with her images of lava near her house and daily photographs of her two dogs trying to cope with lava trauma.

2018 WALK A MILE IN HER SHOES
